The Story

On a cold night during the first few hours of February we were driving home from Champaign, Illinois, and as prisoners of the white lines of the freeway often do, we began reflecting on the past year... "Man," I thought, "we've played with so many amazing bands. How cool would it be if we could bring a bunch of them back home and show everybody here what they're missing!?"

"What do you mean... like a festival?" There was a long pause as we exchanged glances distinctly reading: Hey! That's not a bad idea. We could do that, right?" And we did.

About the Festival

Widow's Peak is a 2-day music and camping festival with over 20 of the absolute best progressive roots artists: folk, blues, bluegrass, country and alt-country. Be the first to discover emerging artists before they make it big (Gee, won't it be fun to say, "I knew them when..."). Enjoy the square mile of picturesque woods, fields, creeks and ponds that beautiful Stonehouse Park has to offer. Chow down on oustanding carnivorous, vegetarian, and vegan food from local restaurants. But most of all, grab a couple friends and make a lifetime of great memories to share down the road!

A Benefit for Mariel Mentink

This year's Widow's Peak will benefit our good friend and an overall wonderful person, Mariel Mentink, who was struck by a car while riding her bike in Austin, Texas on NYE. A portion of the ticket sales will be donated directly to Mariel and her family, and several other fund-raising events are being planned throughout the fest. If you would like to follow her condition (which is getting better slowly but steadily!), Mariel's family has set up a blog here... http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/marielmentink

Thank you all for your support and please encourage others to join us at the fest, support Mariel and help raise awareness for road sharing and bike safety!!
