Uncle Zesty's Old Time Bootknockers is a Lake County, IL Bluegrass Roots group that plays originals as well as bluegrass traditionals. Members of the band are Ashley Behrendt (vocals, guitar, harmonica and kazoo), Alex Kerwin (mandolin and vocals), Sean Peters (upright bass, trombone and vocals), Mike Pollitt (banjo, dobro and vocals), and newest member, Mike Argol on harmonica. Song writers in the group are Ashley, Mike P. and Sean.
Formed just over a year ago by original members, Sean, Alex and Mike Pollitt, they had their first performances at a local venues. A short time later, Ashley, a solo Folk artist also known as “Actually” joined the group, and most recently, Mike Argol.
You can enjoy their performances once a month at a few locations: Downtown Grayslake, IL at Somethings Brewing, Swing State Venue in Lake Villa, IL and also Lilly’s Bar in Chicago. Upcoming performances include Widows Peak Music Festival in Earlville, IL and Michigan Peace Fest in Lacota, MI. UZOTB recently played for Partners for Progress at the grand opening of their new location in Mundelein, IL.
