Born and raised in the foothills of the Wasatch Front, I am a Salt Lake City native transplanted to Chicago. I grew up listening to John Denver, Paul Simon, The Kingston Trio and Dan Folgerberg while I watched my brothers play in local folk-rock bands. A lonely young girl with too many boys in the neighborhood and too much time to write poetry, I began writing music shortly after I learned my first notes on the piano.
At 16, I collaborated with John Kavanaugh, a seasoned Salt Lake City musician and my first guitar teacher. Out of that came my first studio album, North Star, which began my performance career in the local coffee shop scene. Several years later, a few basement sessions with childhood friends led to the formation of Jane Thatcher and the Third Wheels in 2003.
The band began playing the local music and college scene and in 2004 released the full-length album, No Way to Say. Another several years later, after a series of strange life events, I find myself in the beautiful and bitter cold city of Chicago. Armed with my guitar, a make shift home recording studio, and a slew of music written in the process of recovering myself from my early twenties, I am quickly learning about the vibrant local music scene in Chicago.
